I’m tired of being tired. Damn you, jetlag! In other news, I had a great lunch with the German-speaking peeps at NICAR. And I bought “data wrangling with python”, started reading it and like it a lot so far.

Input: 6 Output: 2

What I’ve learned:

Be transparent about struggles, (as a leader). Be transparent about failures: “I tried that, it didn’t work.” Don’t make other people responsible for failure, just yourself.

There is no such thing as a data story. There are only stories that rely on data to get across something about humans or politics or economics etc.

Force push in Github is a thing: push –force. BOOM. Still at NICAR.

Denver tries very hard to look european. And it succeeds.

Remaining questions: What can Python do that R can’t? How can one measure the change in behavior or mindset that data vis or journalism provoke?
