Happy Eastern to all of you! Wait, it’s not a thing here in the US. Hm. Happy weekend then! Today, I made asparagus. And then I missed the closed stores in Germany, I missed the questions à la “what are you doing for the long Easter weekend?”, I missed my grandmother’s place where I would usually be and eat great German food, and I missed the good chocolate.
Btw, that was the first time I made asparagus by myself (I’m not cooking often). I did a good job! And the ham is surprisingly delicious here! I didn’t buy any potatoes, though. That would have made it really German. But I was hungry and potatoes take a long time.

“Multivariate analysis indicates that economic elites and organized groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on U.S. government policy, while average citizens and mass-based interest groups have little or no independent influence.” Source. That makes me so sad.
The “great compromise” in US politics mean that there were some states like California who said: “Let’s make the number of representatives in Congress dependent from the population in US states!” and then less populated states like Montana said: “Nah, that’s a bad idea. You would have so many and we would have so few. Let’s just give every state exactly two representatives! More fair! Also, less complicated!”, and instead of deciding for one concept, they just did BOTH. So now the US has Representatives (dependent from the population, more than 400) and Senators (2 per state) in Congress. Wild.
“The perception counts, not the facts.” Source“If you share something bad that happened, eg on social networks, you feel less helpful.” Source
