Resonate, Belgrade, day 2! And the fies talks… But all in the LIVE programme, meaning, about electro music and it’s history - not really my topic. I used the time to work on my lightning talk for the Information+ conference in June, to work through some of my emails and to start an update on my Google search history project.
And I met a lot of people, had a great burger for lunch, great ice cream for tea time, the worst sushi ever for dinner and a surprisingly ok pizza at midnight. The highlight of the day were certainly two concerts during the night. Also: Belgrade, club city! Yeah, well. The last time I checked (1am), the Resonate party on the boat was sadly pretty lame. Maybe it was too early. Maybe tomorrow people will tell me that it was the BEST PARTY EVER.

Learnings?
The information we should want (and get) should help us forming useful believes about the world. It should help us to navigate the world. If we read about a murder in the city, we form a belief about the criminality in our area and we navigate the city slightly different.
Data Vis works on the anecdote level as another visual element, and on the stats level as context communicating.
You can play the trumpet in a glas of water. Also, experimental music doesn’t need to be annoying.
Questions?
What are examples for the first two learnings up there? (I should definitely get in the habit of trying to falsify my models with examples that won’t fit the model.)
