Portland, day 7 aaaand last day. I’m going home home home in an hour; and what other joy to have on an airport than to write a blog post about one’s day.
Good day today? Good day today. It was not the best idea to have a flight at midnight: I checked out the hotel around noon, but during the rest of the day I had the constant feeling that I should be on my way to the airport already. The day felt more like waiting than enjoying.
What I did:
– have brunch with Annabel, Dan, Mark, Stefan, Allan etc. – go to the Saturday market with them– go to Powell’s and shopping– have cheap & great sushi dinner with A and E
Lowlight of the day: My favourite coffee shop was closed. Highlight of the day: A conversation with R.
And now I’m at the airport, waiting for my Red Eye Flight to Chicago and then Baltimore. Yay yay yay yay. Am I looking forward to be back in DC? Yes. Yes, I’m looking forward to it….not to the weather (hot! humid!), but to be in my apartment and be surrounded by all the things in it, to be my desk at NPR and to be with all my friends. Yeah.
