.@sableRaph bought an AxiDraw and I get to play with it. I’m drawing an old datavis of mine right now. Had to prepare it for hours but now I’m so very excited 😀 #plottertwitter

It continues. Today: OpenStreetMap data, hatching, and two colors.

Playing around with moiré.

Last one for the weekend. Super happy how that color fill (=hatching) turned out. Thanks again to @sableRaph for letting me try his plotter! Now I’m awfully tempted to buy one myself…
I visited the @neeeu_io office and @sableRaph’s AxiDraw today, so get ready for more #plotterlisa (or was it #plottertwitter 🤔)

Since I’m so happy with the hatching (=color fill), I experienced more with area vs line contrasts:

Two of my best attempts today.

Some outtakes and experiments I wasn’t so happy with.

Thanks to @neeeu_io & @sableRaph for letting me experiment!

#plotterlisa is back! (Yes, I don’t work on Mondays 😊)
I’m plotting the world cartogram I created a few weeks ago. Here’s Bangladesh getting filled:

Final result! I’m so happy with it that I’m plotting a second one for the @Datawrapper office.

Now: printing tiny US income tax return forms; just the lines (form 1040: irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1…). I didn’t optimize for speed, but the axidraw seems to be more patient with tax forms than I am…

TIL: Plotting barcodes at a tiny size is a bad idea 🙄

Half an hour ago I finished another attempt to plot one of my old data visualisations. It shows my Google searches about cities until 2016. Here’s the original as a PDF: lisacharlotterost.de/GoogleSearchHi…
I ignored the text, though, which often makes for half of the beauty in datavis.
Back to plotting tax forms, with a different pen:
