This was such an interesting read! Very inspiring. I encountered many new thoughts. RJ connected some dots for me I hadn’t connected yet. The book makes me see data vis in a greater scheme of things.
Also: This book is dense! Almost as if each sentence could have been the beginning of a paragraph on it’s own.
I’d recommend it for advanced data vizzers who need a new inspiration for their craft. As a beginner, I wanted practical advice and very clear structures. RJ’s book is great for people who maybe had TOO much of structure (which is every more advanced person, after a few years) and need to get reminded (and are ready for hearing) that a field can’t be as structured and clear-ruled as they want it to be. I think as a beginner, I would have felt overwhelmed by this book.
