Today I was mostly busy writing support emails during my support internship…but I’m here to show you two color tools I recently discovered:
First, the Python Color Palette Finder by Yan Holtz:

Don’t let the name fool you; this tool is for everyone – you can export the colors as hex codes. You can also filter for qualitative (=categorical), sequential and diverging palettes, and can see how they look like for different types of colorblindness.
And Yan gives you a loooot of palettes; he talks about +2500 palettes in the PyPalettes package, but not sure if the tool shows all of them.
If you’re specifically looking for retro colors (read: less saturated, less pure colors), check out Tom Shanley’s collection of Cheysson Color Palettes:
