In the last three days I was looking for people. Untill now I have only 80 100 of them, but I’m proud of finding every single one: Editorial Designer and Students, Editorial Design Professors, Magazine Editors and Insider of Editorial Design scene. My search won’t be over for the next four months, so if anybody know somebody who could fit into these list - please drop me a line: lisacharlotterost@gmail.com.
Why do I need these people? I want feedback; good one. Part of my concept of my master thesis is to get better through feedback: I want to ask people how they find my magazine and hope to get very helpful answers. I’m trying to find a good mix of quantity and quality: The one excellent opinion about my magazine is as important for my process as the hundreds of same “Well, yeah, it’s ok”-feedbacks. So I want both: The crowd and the expert. I want your opinion (as in “you guys”) and your opinion (as in “you, sir”).
For that, I also tried to get my work out there. I filled my Behance Portfolio and submitted one work to Design Made in Germany. I like Design Made in Germany. I had the chance to follow this project from the beginning (when it was still a forum). Two years ago, Martin Rack - the owner of this platform - contacted me and wanted to show my first dotview Magazine (formerly 275.com) on DmiG. I’ve never had so many visitors on my online portfolio lisacharlotterost.de!
But Behance, of course, is bigger. I think I need to read some dubious manuals à la “5 simple steps to get 1000 Behance followers in only one month!” Because I have no idea how to actually get people to notice me.
