It seems like this week was rushing by without being so super productive - but I’m still medium-good in time. The next week (the final one for this magazine!) will be stressful, but do-able. In the last four days, however, some good things happened: I moved to a very nice room in Weimar and already feel comfortable there. I moved only with three luggages, so all my beloved books are still in the basement of another house here in Weimar and transporting them to my new flat is still something I have to plan….somehow. The next good thing: My four best friends in Weimar and I planned something called “Arbeitsgruppe Abschlussklasse”, which is a meetup of us and anyone who’s interested in sharing their work and getting feedback. So I organised a room and a projector and our first meeting happened yesterday. We all prepared presentations for it, and it was a full success (more about this in my next post).

In the last four days I also organised my trip to Munich on the weekend: I will attend the “Quo vadis Editorial Design” conference, starting tomorrow and ending on Sunday (definitely the longest conference I’ve ever attended, and after “The Modern Magazine” in London last October my second conference about Magazine Design). I’m very much looking forward to it. And, coming back to the actual magazine: I finally decided on the design for the porn spreads, thanks to the little excursion in “boxes design”. Again, it’s not the best spread ever done, but something I can live with.

And I started with one of the most time-consuming spreads in the magazine: The one about mergers and acquisitions by Google (as example for the money-making method: “Start a internet company and get bought by Google”). It’s still a draft and I will talk about my process with this as soon as I finish it (which I hope will happen before I’m going to Munich…so…today).
