Yihaa! Good weekend it was (I stayed in a small hostel in the Thuringian Forest close to Weimar and enjoyed the hills and the forest and the…rain) - but a great Monday it was, too. I finished the Bitcoin chapter (which is one of the longest, so that’s GOOD). And I started with the Online poker chapter.
I thought a lot about diversity and sameness today. To find the point on an axis between these both extremes that’s perfect for the reading experience is tricky. You want the reader to understand the design language in the magazine – so you’ll nee one. But you also want to surprise the reader and get bold on this or that page – so you need to break out of your magazine language.
However, I think that my third magazine is still too divers. It feels like a series of posters, again. That’s bad. I guess the best magazine is the one where you get surprised while flicking through it – but in which you clearly see the difference to the ads in the mag.
