It’s comforting to think we know something in a complex world. That’s one reason why we all love data vis so much. We get an overview.
But let us be honest: Just because we see a scientific or pretty looking image doesn’t mean it’s relevant, true or complete.
Data points show us the what, the when, the how long. Often, they don’t show us the reasons, the consequences, the emotions.
