Today I opened a bank account and Prince died and I wrote a chrome extension and was on the OpenNews call and I started a blog post about Maps vs Territories.
Regarding the bank account: Fun Fact - I spoke to more bank people while opening a bank account here in the US than I spoke to in 5 years of having a bank account in Germany. Basically, that was my first bank since I was 17 years old where I actually saw some bank person …in person. Woah.
Regarding Prince, I feel a little bit bad about not knowing Prince and being surrounded by co-workers who know him and actually appreciate him a lot. I, on the other hand, heard his name for the first time, consciously, a few weeks ago in a plane in a TV show. Hm.
Regarding the Chrome extension: I learned a little bit more about Javascript and decided that I still don’t like it THAT much. But we are a little bit better buddies now, Javascript and I. We tolerate each other, and we ask “How are you?” when we’re passing by and then there’s an awkward silence because we have nothing to talk about. Anyway, I decided that I accomplished my goals of a) learning how a Chrome extension works and b) learning more about Javascript so that I don’t actually need to finish writing the extension.
Besides all that….I’m still tired (aka jet lagged) and not ok with that. It’s been four days. Enough time to adjust, one would think. Hmpf.

Are feelings and emotions part of the map or the territory?
In which way do our maps change the territory?
