Awesome day! I gave a “Look At This” talk about tools for thinking, had a great OpenNews community call and lots of fun with Katie in front of R.

And tonight I finally figured out how to structure my blogpost(s). There will be a high level blog post and a blog post about the tools - maybe separated by “tool” and “language”. So I might have a “1 chart, 8 tools” and a “1 chart, 8 programming languages” blogpost. Also, I thought about the content for the high-level post and am pretty satisfied with it so far. I think it actually might be helpful.

Also, I planned my next days and they will be packed. Coral Hackathon on Saturday, calls on Sunday and starting on Monday: New York!

Input? 3

Output? 7

Learnings?

Strptime takes a character vector and makes a date-time object. Strftime works the other way round: Input = date-time object. Output = character vector. How can one remember that? “Str” stands for string, so Strftime is “String From Time”. The “p” in “Strptime” stands for “pointer”, so one can think as a String that points to a time (object).

Questions?

What do I miss from Berlin, and how could I get that in DC?

Am I more relaxed and concentrated during the day when I think about stuff on the commute instead of listening to podcasts?
