Today: Third and last day of Serendipity days! Ok, I admit it, today were just presentations of the results. And then we had lunch. And then we went up to the roof top and played Jenga and rated Sunburst flavors in the sun. It was a very delightful day.
Also, I finally, finally got a bank account. But to get the stipend from OpenNews, OpenNews’s account needs to get verified! From my bank! I need to tell them OpenNews bank account number, and then my bank says “ok that looks good”, and only then OpenNews is allowed to give me money. Isn’t that crazy? I think that’s crazy. I asked the bank guy at the phone who set up my account why that is. I mean, somebody wants to give his bank money. That can’t be that bad for the bank, no matter where it’s coming from. He said “I’ve never got asked that before” but at least tried to give me an answer. His best idea was that the bank doesn’t want to get associated with illegal bank accounts. Something like that. Weird. And interesting.
Aaaand I had a conversation with Chris about tools. I hope I will finish writing at least an outline for my blogpost about tools on Sunday. I’m looking forward to do nothing tomorrow. Maybe. I hope.
Aaaaaaalso: I found the piano at NPR. It’s a grand piano; a Schimmel. And I spontaneously decided to play on it after work, for half an hour. Which was great and made me very happy.
