The Apple TV series was a highlight of my year, so I gave the book a chance. A surprisingly short and easy read; and a surprisingly political one. It always stays away of the violence of war and terror, and just talks about the tactics. I enjoyed it, but it didn’t blow me away.
That said: Asimov wrote it decades ago, and he couldn’t built on the work of the amazing science fiction books published until today. Sometimes, this shines through, and these little reminders make the book better.
(Also, it had very little to do with the TV series…which was not a bad thing.)
4/5 stars.
