QGIS, a geo software

More gradients today! I added two more sections to the “colors for gradients” chapters, and then freshed up the “classed vs unclassed” and “diverging vs sequential” debate. In total, I worked through 15 pages.

Now I have a big-ish explanation on interpolation left. I wrote one in 2014 on classed color scales and one for Datawrapper (probably 2018?) on unclassed color scales – and now I need to combine the two of them nicely, make the figures nicer, update the explanations – all of that. Which is exciting! But these figures are a bit more elaborate, and I can’t produce them with Adobe Illustrator or Datawrapper. I’ll need more elaborate tools like R and QGIS.

So today I opened QGIS for the first time after…probably years? Definitely many months. That was nice. I like playing around with software.
