This morning, I finished my color key research and grouped them:
I then designed a lot of different color keys (that was fun! Interesting to see the strengths and weaknesses of the different approaches):
And then I started to write up what I learned in that research phase. I wrote 4 pages on what to keep in mind when designing categorical color keys, and designed a few figures for that:
I also did some design work for Datawrapper and gave feedback to some ideas that my coworker Rose had.
