I wrote 10 pages on color keys for continuous color scales today! 🎉 Very happy with that. And I already started writing about reminding people of color keys through annotations, tooltips, and text outside of the visualization.
I’m getting close to finishing the whole “make your vis readable” part (that included everything I’ve worked on so far) and it feels really good. Although the last chapter in that part 1 will be a biggie: Using intuitive colors. I still have a bit to write about that. And it feels like a bottomless pit that I could fall in and still write stuff about in half a year, sooo….I’m thinking about just covering it shallowly, and then putting that on my “would be nice to have more in-depth information about it but let’s see if I still have time to research that” pile.
Let’s see if I have the strength to “just cover something shallowly.”
