Some “slow writing” today for the “Use fitting colors that are easy to interpret” [working title] section.

After some thinking and writing and structuring I decided on a categorization that, so far, works. I’m always doing “category testing by writing”: I come up with a provocative “let’s put all ideas into these x boxes!” categorization, and then start writing. I then often notice that these boxes don’t work, like, at all, and I’ll come up with other boxes = categories. And then write a bit more. And then check again if the boxes still make sense. Et cetera, et cetera.

To come up with these categories (and also to start testing them), I read and re-read some nice papers today, so that was fun. And I finished the day with some relaxing research on which colors news organizations use to visualize data about different races/ethnicities.

It’s the weekend for me now. See you next Monday! 👋
