Today I started to work on a book proposal for my book.

What’s a book proposal, you ask? It’s something you send to potential publishers so that they learn everything important about your book: What will be in it, who should read it and why, and why are you a good person to write it.

It’s also not just for the publishers: It helps you as the author to think about the questions that should be very, very easy to answer for you.

And it’s overdue to write such a proposal. Some sections I could – and should – have thought about when starting to write the book, e.g. about what books are out there that cover similar topics.

Some sections I can only write now – e.g. the one about the table of content, which changed quite a bit right before I stopped working on the book two years ago.
